In Khadija’s Kitchen today we made that good ole deep fried fish using whiting as our choice of 🐟 in the market. Let me walk you though the steps of making the prefect fried fish using 3 eggs, homemade batter, whiting fish, seasoning, and a good ole bag.
As seen in the first picture is The Good Ole Bag with my special Fish batter I use to make it crispy. I started to cut up little bite size peices and seasoned them. Second, dunk and dip the seasoned fish bites inside a bowl with 3 eggs to allow for the batter to stick. Third, place your fish inside the bag and shake it up so your fish bites are completely covered.
Pour your oil in a deep frying pot or pan and place it on the stove. While your preparing turn your stove on high or deep fryer on to medium high and watch the oil pop so it doesn’t get on you, safty first! Allow for your Oil to get HoT 🔥 as this will cook your fish evenly.
Now season your Fish and coat with flour, shake off excess flour. Cook until crisp!
Dunk your fish Bites inside the Hot Oil to cook for 5 minutes per batch. Fry the fish, two or three pieces at a time, until its golden and fish begins to flake when tested with a fork, turning once. I watch for it to float up. Just keep an eye open so you don’t burn them.

Make Khadija’s a signature sauce with your fish to dip. Its simple just grab some Mustard, Hot Sauce, Ketchup mix all three friends together with a fork until you get this look. This sauce is tangy and spicy. To make it less spicy use less hot sauce or subsitute for barbecue sauce and mix all three or four together to add more flavor.
You can never go wrong with Tarter Sauce on the side.
